Clear Channel Radio Oklahoma City is currently accepting applications for internship positions. Prospective candidates must currently be enrolled in an accredited school majoring within a certificate or degree-seeking program, associated with an accredited internship/mentoring program. Interns must be in good academic standing and be able to make a 10-40 hour per week commitment, complying with the institution’s requirements. These hours are flexible and may be worked around school schedules. This is a non-paying internship and documentation from the crediting education institution will be required. Internships are available with the Sales Departments, Production Departments, Promotions Departments, and with an On-Air Personality for KJYO-FM, KBRU-FM, KTST –FM, KXXY-FM, KTOK-AM, and FOX SPORTS.
Some responsibilities and duties for the Sales internships will include the aid in the production, distribution, fulfillment, and customer services of Clear Channel Radio Rewards Promotion for all stations. They will also work concert and expo events, learn the business processes of the media industry and develop skills on the Arbitron Ratings System.
The Production Intern will learn the day-to-day operations of the radio Production Department, which is responsible for creating and handling all pre-recorded on-air commercial and promotional material. The Intern must have had, or be enrolled in an introductory audio production course. The desired skills include a basic understanding of digital audio production techniques (preferably Cool Edit or Adobe Audition environment), recording, copywriting, database management, and administrative functions. The intern will have the opportunity to acquire skills and experience needed in today’s radio broadcast industry and audio production facilities.
The On-Air Personality’s Intern will have responsibilities in the morning which involve helping answering studio lines, welcoming guests, lining up interviews, and assisting at appearances. Night interning will consist of helping answer studio lines and taking requests, observing the Personalities work, and some on-air banter depending on personality.
