POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition (OVAC) is a non-profit organization that supports visual artists living and working in Oklahoma and promotes public interest in the arts. One of the ways that OVAC achieves this mission is through publishing a bi-monthly magazine, Art Focus Oklahoma. Art Focus Oklahoma is dedicated to stimulating insight into and providing current information about the visual arts in Oklahoma. More information about the magazine is at www.ArtFocusOklahoma.org.
OVAC seeks an intern to contribute to the production of Art Focus Oklahoma by assisting the editor with all aspects of the publication including editing, writing, ad sales and distribution. This is an unpaid internship.
Benefits to Student:
Gain experience with all aspects of the publication including writing, editing and distribution. Possibility of having writings published. College credit is available.
Requirements:
An interest in some area of publishing.
An interest in the visual arts is preferred.
Good writing and communication skills.
Time Commitment:
At least 6 hours per week.
Paid or Unpaid position: Unpaid
